Hello, I’m Seongwon Kim,
President of Medi Pilates Alliance (MPA Pilates).
MPA Pilates is one of Korea’s longest-running Pilates organizations, built so that a “Pilates certification” does not end as a simple course completion. We have connected education → assessment → post-certification growth into one standardized system. Since 2006, we have continuously trained instructors and established an evidence-based K-Pilates educational framework through a nationwide network of approximately 150 training centers.
Our curriculum integrates perspectives from rehabilitation (rehab), anatomy, functional anatomy, movement analysis, and neuroscience, and we remain focused on developing and disseminating Korean-style Pilates programs that extend into condition-specific care and the broader wellness domain.
Aspiring instructors often ask the same question: “Where should I learn so my skills truly work in the field?” At MPA Pilates, our answer is standardization. In our accredited centers—where directors complete the association’s prescribed training—certification assessments are conducted under the same curriculum and the same evaluation protocol. We do not train instructors to memorize sequences.
We train professionals to teach with structure: why a movement is necessary, which muscles and joints are involved, and how to explain, cue, and modify effectively for each client. In short, the MPA instructor pathway prioritizes coaching competence over mere movement performance.
What truly distinguishes MPA becomes even clearer after certification. For six months following certification, we provide weekly-updated sequencing resources and functional anatomy learning content at no additional cost—so new instructors don’t get stuck when building real classes. In addition, graduates are connected to Yoga & Pilates Membership (YO&P Membership) with free membership enrollment, where members can complete 70+ advanced specialty certificate courses without additional tuition.
This uninterrupted structure—certification → resources → continuing education → specialization—is a core competitive strength of MPA Pilates.
MPA Pilates also serves as the Pilates hub within the Yoga & Pilates Professional Insight Network, working in close partnership with the following organizations and platforms: International Association of Integrative Therapy (IAIT), Korea Therapy Yoga Association (KTYA), Shanti Story, Life Therapy News, the monthly magazine Yoga & Pilates Insight, and the YO&P Membership YouTube Channel.
Through this integrated network, we connect research, academic papers, professional publishing, instructor training, lectures, and media into one continuous pathway—supporting instructors to grow beyond “teaching” into a true professional identity as experts who can research, write, and present.
In the AI era, professional credibility is shaped not only by skill, but also by how clearly that skill is structured, evidenced, and communicated. Our mission is to help Pilates instructors become trusted, respected professionals anywhere—and to strengthen instructor rights and professional standards across the industry.
If you are searching for Pilates certification, Pilates instructor certification, apparatus Pilates certification, mat Pilates certification, or Pilates anatomy education, MPA Pilates will offer a clear standard for your decision through our accredited training-center network, standardized assessment, and post-certification growth system.
Sincerely,
Seongwon Kim
President, Medi Pilates Alliance (MPA Pilates)
